The HDS is designed to assess eleven common dysfunctional dispositions. These dispositions (a) are caused by people’s distorted beliefs about how others will treat them and (b) negatively impact working relationships with others, impede productivity, or limit overall career potential. Traditionally these behaviors will not appear in every-day working conditions. Rather these behaviors will appear during times of prolonged stress and pressure, heavy workloads, and ambiguous situations. The HDS is a 168-item inventory that contains eleven primary scales.
