S.K. Ng was active in various Singapore government departments for 20 years, contributing to public relations, public education, community education, corporate communication, and human resource development. He was also active in frontline operations, crisis management and actual emergency response coupled with emergency exercises; with repeated accolades.
In 1995 he joined a regional insurer to lead its 4,700 agents and was active in its corporate restructuring and the ensuing crisis management. As Chief Representative, he led its Shanghai Office into winning a national award and himself, the only foreigner worldwide, honored amongst the 20 “Who’s Who In Public Relations in China”.
Subsequently, he served as General Manager of a training group responsible for marketing, public relations and training in China; Director for Human Resource, Quality Service & Corporate Communication of a regional industrial group, Project Director and Principal consultant in management consultancy and corporate-cum-MBA training in Asia Pacific.
Over the years, he has worked/consulted with, trained and/or mentored leaders in the private and public sector e.g. mayors, directors, managers and frontline executives. His professional interests in career, consultancy, training and MBA-education encompass corporate strategy, strategic thinking, change management, customer service, general management, leadership essentials, human resource development, marketing & branding, public relations, crisis communication, business continuity management, cross-cultural negotiation, and creative problem-solving. His activities cover mainly Singapore, ASEAN countries and China.
His recent involvements included speaking at the “Conference on Chinese Enterprise in Post-WTO Era” organized by Nanyang Technological University, co-founding of the Asian Management Association as serving as an Advising Judge of the Singapore Professional Enterprise Awards.
Fluent in English and Chinese/Mandarin coupled with some dialects, he enjoys interacting with organizational leaders in the public and private sector; and travel.
